Only history will prove what a talented man he was. With his brothers they really changed music especially in the 70's. The Bee Gees were unique - their 'sound' was unique and their writing skills were unique, but the backbone of the group was Robin who contributed so much with his vocals and writing. The man was musical.
It must be terribly hard for his brother Barry right now, who's now lost all his younger brothers - all too young - Andy in 1988 (30), Maurice(Robin's twin) in 2003 (53), and now Robin (62) - our thoughts go out to him.
The Bee Gees contributed so much to popular music for over 40 years, not only as a group, but also as writers/producers for some of the biggest names in the history of pop music - Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Barbra Streisand, not forgetting they wrote the huge hit enjoyed by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton ('Islands in the stream) - they have touched every music fan in one way or another.
REST IN PEACE ROBIN GIBB
