Now that I blew up the picture a bit I have my doubts too. Lynn is on the right (I now can see the upturned nose), Riss is in the center. The woman on the left looks too tall - although she is closer to the camera. Because of the angle of her head it's hard to see if her features match Dusty.

Okay - not Dusty

This is a picture of her replacement.

Just to be sure - does anyone know exactly when Dusty left The Lana Sisters because this picture was taken at JAMES KENYON LTD, BURY IN LANCS, IN AUGUST 1960 according to he listing

As the Lana Sisters recorded with Dusty in November 1960 and The Springfield's were auditioning for Johnny Franz in April 1961, then presumably it was the beginning of 1961 but I don't think I've ever seen it written anywhere. The picture is confusing because Dusty obviously isn't in it and she should have still been a member in August 1960. Could be a wrong date of course, a little more searching needed methinks

I've been doing a little bit of a search and found a couple of quotes connecting Dusty to the Springfields in mid 1960. One said "when Tom Springfield and Tim Feild added Tom's sister Dusty (Mary O'Brien) to their folk act in mid 1960, they renamed themselves The Springfields". And in Lucy O'Brien's book she talks of them doing Butlins and touring in their bus in 1960. So I'd say by the time that photo was taken, Dusty had already officially left the Lana's and was a Springfield. All my presumptions taken from other sources obviously!
