So far Universal have been conspicuous in their absence with regards to announcing any releases to commemorate Dusty's 80th! Mind you they haven't even acknowledged Motown's 60th anniversary! Useless lot! [:(!]

I believe the R2 documentary is to be called 'Definitively Dusty'. I expect a lot of us will be away from home or travelling when the first one goes out, it being on Dusty Day, so thank goodness for iPlayer!

Not sure if BBC Radio2 is available on internet radio?. Maybe available on BBC World Service.

For those in UK who won't be able to listen live and have SKY you can record -( SKY 0102). If you are staying in a hotel, listen on tv Freeview 702.

Hi, there was a short piece on Dusty on last night's One Show. It was to commemorate the 20 years that she's been gone. I missed most of it, but have found it BBC iplayer. xxxx

im a bit disappointed that there isn't a new release, but as dustys music has been ransacked for so long with rehashed cds, I guess the only thing we could have would be a glorious, wonderful box set with absolutely everything on it, and imagine how amazing it would be if they had been holding something back that's totally new, but I guess that's just a pipe dream

To mark the upcoming 80th anniversary of Dusty's birth, The Independent has published a long article by Graeme Ross, in which he takes the reader through Dusty's career and selects her 20 greatest songs with the reader able to sample each track.

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/dusty-springfield-best-songs-playlist-motown-music-a8863101.html

The beginning of the piece has a photo which I don't recall having seen before.

Lists are always subjective as we know. There are a few of my top 20 included but SOAPM at no.1 wouldn't even be in my list. That doesn't mean I don't like it because I do, it's just that there are so many more deserving tracks.

The photo appeared on Facebook a few weeks back and was (I believe) taken at Heathrow when Dusty took a trip to Paris with Emperor Rosko.

SOAPM would is my second least fav Dusty song! Only 3 from that list would be in my Top 20 which could change on a daily basis!

I think of Dusty a lot obviously and can't help wondering what her life would be like now if she were still with us at age 80. Thank you for enriching my life with your beautiful soul Dusty :rose: <3 <3

Visited Dusty's marker today on what would have been her 80th Birthday
More plants and flowers have arrived and the professional grass cutters have been and cut some of the grass around the area....they managed to spray all the flowers and plants with bits of cut grass [:o] you couldn't make it up
Still mustn't grumble!
Met Simon there and Jen (from Canada) and we all had lunch in Cafe Rouge and talked Dusty!

Sky Arts this afternoon broadcast British Invasion (Dusty of course) for the enth time, and I sat and watched it for the enth time. I do have the DVD but I don't want to wear it out ! Nice to see Madeline as we all missed her at DD.
I missed the beginning but I'm sure it was Sky's tribute for her 80th.

I recently started collecting Dusty's records and I posted this picture on my snapchat for her birthday. I thought some of you here at LTD might appreciate it.
