I don't doubt for a moment that you're spot on, Carole.

Pat strikes me as being that rarest of flowers - a true and life-long friend. This must be a very difficult day for her.

:rose: :pensive: :rose: I'm stuck here at work, but you all know where my heart is today. I see a lot of posts about Dusty's friends. Thats one of the things that drew me to her. Madeline, Simon, Vicky, Pat, and the rest all stuck by her thru thick, thin, and to the end. That told me volumes more about the person (Mary O'Brien) than I could ever read in a book. I wish I could embrace them all. Damn! It's going to be hard to keep from tearing up thru the day. Tomorrow I ski, and I'll dedicate my day to Dusty. <3  <3

And while I'm at it, will some one please tell me who selects those beautiful pictures of Dusty on the home page? They're so great, I sometimes print them out and put them on my bulletin board in work - Like this current picture. It's particularly beautiful!

Michael, Will typically choses the photographs, and does a lovely job. the one that appears today was one Carole G sent me for the 'occasion.'.

Really beautiful tributes on this thread, and elsewhere. Surely Dusty would be touched to know how remembered and beloved she is, and will always be, as long as her voice is heard.

On a personal note, I'm glad this day is almost over (in the US). As others have written, it's been a difficult one. At the same time, being with the fan community helps make us get through. Special thoughts to Simon and Pat, and also who were personally close to Dusty. And special love to you all. It is your love of Dusty that keeps this place going.

Yesterday, I woman at the office I work in looked at the Dusty pictures I have posted, and told me that she saw an article about her the day before in the New York Daily News, on the anniversary of her passing. I searched the Daily News website, but I couldn't find any article. But I did come across this: An article from December, 2008 regarding the upcoming Grammy Awards. The columnist said that he thought that the Welsh singer Duffy would come away with several awards. He also said that Duffy was being compared (unjustifiably) to Dusty Springfield. I've heard of Duffy, but I don't know anything about her music. What are your comments?
