Me too Cor! It was the first one I ever saw and will always have a special place in my heart. I saw Pat and Simon for the first time here and it was a delight to listen to them speaking about her. Love those rare glimpses of Norma, Helene and others too :rose:...And that's to say nothing about the sublime footage of the lady herself :star:. A thing of beauty!

It's really a good documentary, which I watch regularly on youtube, although Vicki Wickham's comments are questionable. Is this documentary available as DVD, at least I didn't find anything with the title Definitely Dusty documentary on amazon or ebay?

awesome documentary.
this was sort of the turning point in my Dusty fandom. I'd already had her greatest hits and Memphis for a few years. I had just moved to New York City when i saw this on a cable station called Ovation in 2004. I was so into it I taped it on VHS when the repeated it later that night. I still have the tape.

this is when i first learned of Dusty's sexuality. This is when I first came to fully realize the impact she had on popular culture in the 60's. When I first heard Jerry Wexler tell that story about Dusty in the studio ("more track, i can still hear myself"). This is when i started digging deeper.

LTD was still a few years away. But this was when i began to connect with Dusty not only as a marvelous singer, but as a true artist, and as a kindred spirit.

That's my favourite documentary of Dusty too! Thanks Corinna!
Before I saw this I didn't know much about her as a person even if I had loved her voice since I first heard it as a child.
The more I heard/watched or read about her the more I wanted to know(and the more I love her  ).. [:)]
and it still goes on.. [:)]

I still remember the anticipation of waiting for this documentary which was the first of it's kind after Dusty's death. It's never officially made it onto DVD which is a shame as it has some great footage, which was new to us at the time. I'm thinking mainly of Dusty in the park in Australia, walking, running and dancing [:)]

I also love the one with Later With Jools Holland. It features Dusty's performances from her TV show that were rescued from Jamaica, as well as later ones. I especially love the last one she ever did on TV - "Where Is A Woman To Go." I loved the way she picked up the other musicians and background singers. It's too bad it was her last one, but at least her comeback was complete.

Didn't Serena Cross of the BBC do the one everyone is talking about here? I fully agree that it should be made available in DVD.

Personally, I'd love to see a major Dusty documentary created.

I'm at work, otherwise I'd refer to my CDS. [;)]
At the end of the Definitely Dusty documentary we hear some of "See All Her Faces",
but it's just a sample. (very short). I need more ! It's beautiful ! Is there more ?
On what collection can I find it ?
I thought perhaps it would be on something offered here at LTD. Sing up someone. [:X] <3 [:X]

Hey Jeffery, you mean the song "See all her faces"? It's on the album of the same name, one of my favourite Dusty albums.

its beautiful!!!!! i remember seeing that footage of her running and playing, and being taken with the lovely song playing along. Took me a few listens to figure out it was "See All Her Faces".

@Jeffrey- i think the only US release that has the song on it is Dusty in London.

The whole opening of Keats' poem is applicable here:

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
Therefore, on every morrow, are we wreathing
A flowery band to bind us to the earth,
Spite of despondence, of the inhuman dearth
Of noble natures, of the gloomy days,
Of all the unhealthy and o'er-darkened ways
Made for our searching: yes, in spite of all,
Some shape of beauty moves away the pall
From our dark spirits.

I just saw this for the first time and I loved it! I did feel my blood pressure go through the roof when Vicki makes her asinine comments, though. I really don't think she could be further from the truth. My impression of VW is that she's a real snake. I really liked Pat, Simon, and Madeline, though. They seemed to genuinely care about Dusty.

I am in total agreement. I love to hear Dusty's speaking voice, it is so beautiful and rich. Vicki Wickam's on the other hand makes me want to cringe...I just fast forward whenever she is in a segment. No need to explain why I know you all get my drift.

Was this released in 1999 or 2000? There were definitely high points to it, but as I've become uncomfortable with things that delve into "everything," I prefer Full Circle, as at least Dusty can give her side of the story there! And don't get me started on the elephant in the room...I'd like someone to throw a pail of water at her! ("I'm meeeeellllllting...." in my dreams!)

I will admit that I cried seeing it the first time and seeing the funeral set to "Goin' Back."
