A Collection Of 21 Tamla Motown Sounds

Postby countrycake » Tue Apr 09, 2019 4:40 pm

On 21 April 2018 a label by the name of History of Soul issued a vinyl album with the title A Collection of 21 Tamla Motown Sounds. It is subtitled Live In Europe 1965.

It seems to be the soundtrack from the 1965 Rediffusion TV special Sounds of Motown. It includes the three tracks featuring Dusty, ie You Lost The Sweetest Boy, Wishin' and Hopin' and I Can't Hear You No More.

Here's a link to the Amazon UK listing:

What a find!! What a treat to have these performances on vinyl. Given the significance of that broadcast - as revolutionary for changing the focus of music in Europe as The Beatles on Ed Sullivan were for North America - this is long overdue.
