TV Archives

On Breakfast TV, 25May, was an item about Kaliedescope TV. This is an organization that is searching for lost UK tv shows. Maybe you will be interested in the amount of Dusty appearances that are missing.

I'd rather see the world the way it used to be.......

Wow, so many  I haven't studied the list in depth but one jumped out at me, the Rod McKuen show from 1971. It does exist as we have clips from it and Rod apparently had the whole show with the missing duet as well. You do wonder who else has some of these gathering dust for whatever reason. Thanks for posting it Pat. On BBC Breakfast one clip they had managed to find was from a TOTP's, Bruce Forsythe singing 'Sandra'! Apparently he released it as a single! It wasn't a hit

Plus we do have the Liberace Show in colour I believe.

Nice to read about all these lost programmes. We all live in hope that some will one day be found!
Apparently Sandra is politically incorrect now due to the line "She's a great little housewife, but sometimes she talks like a fool" [;)]

Hi All

I too think that it is really sad all these shows are missing.
To me the one show that I think would have to be the greatest loss
is "Dusty Live at the Talk of the Town" as those that never saw Dusty
live would have the chance to see her at her peak September 1968.
Great show directed by Stanley Dorfman I tried a couple of times to
contact him as he may have had a copy somewhere, however never
had any luck. He lives in Los Angles. It would be fabulous if he did
have it..

Cheers Douggie <3 Dusty  :note:

Hi Douggie
I would love to see that show again.
I was lucky enough to see it live and meet Dusty back stage along with Pat.
I am sure you may not remember but I have a photo from the show Dusty did at the Ritz, Kings Heath near B'ham.I will post it ......................you may recognise a young man by her side.I was so pleased to be that close to Dusty. It was the first time I met her.

A nice link, so many shows missing, so sad.
I was lucky enough to see the Dusty at the Talk of the Town, not only on stage but when it was televised too. It would indeed be wonderful to see the show again, I live in hope.

Hi Mike

He looks a bit like the guy I use to see in the mirror.
Now "The Man in the mirror" looks like some old
guy who looks a bit like my old uncle!!
Don't know what happened to the first guy!

C'est la Vie!!

Douggie
