I just saw this Karen, thanks for posting. I like Norah!
And I have to wonder, how many covers of this song have been done in total.

here's one from a recent Diana concert several months ago. She doesn't stray too much from her traditional setlist, but sometimes she pulls out a nice surprise like this. [:)]

:rose: Although Laura Branigan's version of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow wasn't very well known she performed the song to her own piano accompaniment whenever possible even during the abbreviated concerts she was limited to during her final years.

I've always much prefered Dustys versions to any other, but this country version is easy listening Karen. Not bad.

A couple of tunes from iconic divas that Dusty covered:

From the 60's, Patti LaBelle & the Bluebelle's "Take Me For a Little While":

Dusty's version:

And in the 80's, Gladys Knight and the Pips' version of "Send it To Me":

Dusty's retooled version for the Reputation album:

yet another Gladys version I was not aware of-
I love the Empress of Soul, but I think Dusty's version trumps this.

ImageHere's renditions of Allentown Jail & Two Brothers by the Lettermen featuring Bob Engemann who passed away last Sunday:

The Lettermen also recorded Anyone Who Had a Heart, Close to You & Spooky (Bob Engemann had departed the group prior to these recordings).

I haven't seen this one being posted here before, and it is not available on Youtube either, but there's this version of Son of a Preacher Man I love so much. It was recorded in 1999 (I guess as a tribute) by one of my favorite French singers, Sylvie Vartan. It's a duet with someone named Axelle Red (I never heard of her before, but perhaps you know who it is). I love Sylvie and I think she sounds really good.

I uploaded it on Soundcloud, Youtube would block the video for copyright infringement.

Not sure if this has been posted before.... The Windmills of your Mind.

By Nina Persson (Cardigans, A Camp)

There is also a version by Swedish Lill Lindfors which I quite like, but UMG blocks it on YouTube... boo.

Cor ,I enjoyed this version but Dusty wins. I always liked her version over Harrisons's long before I became Dustified.
The orchestration was different and powerful. Presume the lyrics translated well into Swedish.
I'd rather see the world the way it used to be.......

I always prefer Dusty's versions but when I remembered that a favorite singer-songwriter of mine from the Boston area, Jennifer Kimball, did a version of "Chained to a Memory", I had to put it up. Jenn performs a lot in the Boston/Cambridge area and I highly recommend catching her if you can.

I really liked "Chained To A Memory" with Jennifer Kimball, Kelly! [ear] :note:
I don't think we always have to compare or choose one before the other. I like them both. [:)]

Before I heard Dusty's live version of "You Can Have Him" I had heard a Swedish version of it with a singer called Anita Lindblom from 1962. In Swedish the song title is "Sånt Är Livet".
Sometimes you can't even recognize that it's the same song. The Swedish version has a great bass groove... :note:
and Dusty's version has a lot of drumming at the beginning of the song.
I think they both are interesting!
