So nice to her Dusty's Wishin and Hopin on last weeks episode of Call the Midwife. (yes, I know, this is the USA and we are a bit behind)
The storyline has finally moved into 1963/1964 era, so I'm hoping next season will bring some more Dusty songs. One of the women at the clinic this past week had the classic Dusty har style.

Tony B's SOTS always has 2 slots presented by Phil Swern . This week was "When the lovelight starts shining through his eyes", a classic track from AGCD. Both he and Tony spoke of her influence of Motown in the UK.

Of course it's available on iplayer/Sounds - about 1hour 25mins in. Phil Swern is the encyclopaedia of pop music and sets many quizzies including Popmaster.

An article in my local paper today.
Long lost footage of Beatles performance on bbc TOTPs in the summer of 1966 is to be shown. From collector David Chandler who had it on 8mm film reels. He gave it to Kaleidoscope a group specialising in recovering tv videos. It was enhanced and remastered and shows them singing paperback writer..
Dusty Springfield , Tom Jones and the Hollies also feature. The footage is being shown at Birmingham University tomorrow. Dusty sings Goin back.
I dont know if this will be more available than this showing but some whizz kids on here may be able to track it down and give us some news on if we can see it. [beg] [ear] [whistle] [yahoo]

Yes they showed her at the beginning when they did a montage of their hits prior to them taking the stage. I had high hopes but sadly it was not to be.Chris did comment that it was always a thrill hearing someone singing your songs, particularly someone like Dusty Springfield.
So when they didn't include her in the clip it was a crying shame
She was also a question on popmaster on radio 2 this morning. Asked who sang the songs WHIDTDT and In private.
Linked with the pet shop boys.

I'm in Henley at the moment and wandering around the shops yesterday, Son Of A Preacherman was played in one and later in the day IOWTBWY came on in another. These were part of compilation CD's that were playing.
The marker is covered in leaves at the moment as it's Autumn!
Flowers in the church were lovely there because of the Harvest festival.
