Flowers for Dusty's memorial in Henley

Postby JohnHarding » Thu Dec 22, 2016 11:04 am

Hi everyone.

My contact at the florist's shop in Henley has sent me a photo of the flowers which she placed at the stone yesterday as arranged. As I am sure you know, David has arranged for another floral arrangement to be placed there on December 24, and he will send us a photo of the entire set of tributes then. I thought you would all like to see what your donations to LTD bought.

I have also received the (almost) correct thank you letter from The Royal Marsden. I'm arranging for it to be scanned this morning (my ancient equipment stalls way too often), and hope to post that tonight.

Best wishes,

John

David Hay-Gibson has provided the attached photograph of Dusty's memorial stone in Henley after the positioning of the floral tribute from the Facebook community 'The Official Dusty Springfield Fan Club'. I hope you'll feel, as I did, that the recent cleaning of the stone and its surround, which David arranged, sets off the flowers beautifully. I think the overall effect is a tremendous testament to the affection and respect in which Dusty's memory is still held.

Almost time to say goodbye to 2016, which takes with it way too many of our favourite entertainers. Let's hope that 2017 is a far happier year - and don't forget that 2016 cannot take away our memories.

With warmest wishes for a Happy New Year to everyone.

John
